Naughty Don

We picked this crew up in Oceanside on our way to Dana Point. This was one afternoon of a three day trip from San Diego to Newport Beach with stops in Oceanside, Doheny, Dana Point, and Emerald Bay. Ronnie & Kaleo wrote music on the way from Oceanside to Doheny where we dropped anchor for the Sunset. The guys played music, Keleo’s wife Mel got in a little sunset yoga session then we moved inside the harbor and ordered some take out from Wind & Sea. After an evening jam session for Stacy's birthday we dropped anchor in the East Basin for the night.

Ronnie King is a Grammy Award winning artist and Kaleo Wassman is the front man for the band Pepper. They started a project together called “Naughty Don”. This afternoon was a song writing and recording session using the ocean as inspiration. The starting point was using the classic boat song “Sailing” by Christopher Cross. RK and Kaleo put down a killer remix that they will continue to work on in the studio in the coming weeks.

Day two was Dana to Newport with a stop at Emerald Bay and an overnight stay at the C1 anchorage. Day three was a sail back down from Newport to Oceanside to drop everyone off then Guinevere and I brought the boat back to San Diego.

Aboard the West Coast Multihulls Leopard 40 charter cat Flower Power.
